Every boy Mama I know is genuinely the coolest person ever. There’s an extra special quality that boy Moms have that I simply adore, so when I was commissioned for this set of Mama & Son portraits over the chilly winter time, I was over the moon.

Capturing the nuance of a high-energy, East Village, five-year-old mixed with that snuggly warmth that is unique to motherhood was a true joy, even in the midst of a very brisk wintry day.

As always, 35mm captures both color and black & white film for this one.
